At right, newly capped Easter Mary with her widowed mother and Manager Nathan. The mother can't smile because she is quite overcome with emotion. Easter Mary is the first in her large extended family to advance this far in her education. Nathan has a rare talent as an educator in bringing out the best in the students.

At left is Lilly, our other nursing student. She is the oldest of nine children. Her youngest sibling, in front of her, is the toddler who always had to wear her "pearl" necklace. The woman on the right is a relative.
