By making our own bricks, the cost is reduced by half. Local staff is building the wall. Because of drought there are severe water problems. The huge well on the property is often dry. On the advice of water experts, the well has been drilled sideways in three directions, resulting in more flow of water. Drilling a second deep well is being planned for another part of the compound. Another urgent need is for a third major building for a larger dormitory for the girls.

...learn more DONATING BY CREDIT CARD Child Haven is registered with CanadaHelps.org which helps Canadian charities receive donations via credit card without having to handle the huge task of seeing up accounts with each card company (Visa, Master Card, American Express). The transaction is free for the contributor and Child Haven is only charged a 3% administration fee which is less than if we had our own accounts setup. Child Haven is notified immediately of all transactions and funds are sent directly to our bank account. If they wish, donors can send a quick note along with their contribution and designate funds to a specific area. INDIA VISA SITUATION UPDATE Indian visa offices are accepting Child Haven Intern applications for "entry" visas. You must apply early as there may be a wait. Tourist visas are available, but Interns must have an entry visa/X type visa. |
